One Last Time!

End is a myth, for that I believe In a journey that prevails till the soul departs From the body of flesh and blood. And then it reave My being from a thousand dream; the rage starts, To be or not be! One last time, before destiny drifts us apart My love, let us walk down the same way, from where did we start. On a sunny summer morning, amidst the crowd When you came to me to unveil the shroud. Eyes were glued to my smiling face You looked away gently, I might catch you in case While staring at me, caressing my being. My Lord, that day or any other with him Can't be faded, nor can ever be dim. One last time, let me cherish all that I had With a spark in eyes and mind being glad; Which were once all mine, can I never hold them back? That morning of winter, with pretty little paws Entered our lives with a brush in hand and all that it draws Are mere patches of our way so far With a dash of red, alarming the scar. We are left with the time bestowed upon Us to ...

My Darling, We're Apart...

So what that we can't be together again Be it during the summer or at the call of rain? Your words will still foreshadow my glee With a smile tilted on your face, somehow still thinking of me! We won't be holding hands in the darkest of night, Neither will crook my brows when you will be out of sight. My ways will not further cross yours. But still, my love, you will smile and help me cure When the lush green will turn grey and the storm will sway In the chilly winter night. Far away, Into the woods, across the sea, As you close your eyes, my world will freeze; Your breath will run across my soul like the wintry breeze. My Darling, now that we're apart, I promise to giggle with the rising sun, Will not be afraid if thy memories burn Into ashes to make me smile. I promise to be brave through the thick and thin, Will not choke when you will be there in the back of my mind Or, when the wind will whisper touching my skin. So what that we can't be tog...

Be with a man who will heal you!

We are all scarred and always in search of healing. With a busy life followed by heaps of responsibilities and gallons of thoughts, we have somehow turned into a lifeless object which keeps collapsing, decaying, bleeding and still manages to stand up and continue.  I never thought healing can be so relaxing till the time I have met him. My wounds were bare, infectious and deep. Prior I would have stopped every step towards me in a fear of being hurt all over again. Then he came like the melting sun in a foggy winter morning, with hands full of hope and eyes emitting magic spell.  My sleepless nights were overshadowed with my carefree giggles. It was he who made me realize that we heal when we wish to. His words rejuvenated spark in my dull being. It was long since I have felt a soothing touch. His words soothed my soul with a tender touch. Like a fresh dew drop in the morning, his smile tilted on my cheeks with thousand hues of happiness.  Suddenly my world had all...

Sunset

Ever since I have started writing, moonlit night has always been the muse behind my scribbles. Though there are plenty of descriptions on sunset and beaches, it somehow never fascinated me. I was always a moon kinda person who would simply fall in love with that lifeless piece up in the sky and ditched every breathtaking view for that placid glimpse.  I have spent the coldest of winter nights keeping the windowpanes wide open, looking blankly at the moon, with a hope that someday it will find its way back me. That never happened, neither did I stop waiting for it. It kept travelling with me my entire childhood and still peeps into my mind whenever I look at the sky, exhausted and hopeless, to console me. I found solace in dark.  It was the beginning of winter when the world seemed the prettiest of all. The gentle touch of sunbeam melts in air and soothes your soul. The best part about cantonment area is the lush green which you might miss in civilization. This place was s...

Parathe aur Aloo Bhujia!

Whenever my darling comes to town, he comes with loads of simplicity and a dash of awesomeness. It was the end of May when he finally got a little time to waste on me as his tenure as the CO of a ship ended and another round of hustles was yet to begin. Sadly, his stay never extends from only three days to more. But it's better to have something than nothing and by then I was totally accustomed with the improbable leaves. So when I was getting 'Oh My God!!! Three Days!!!' togetherness, I couldn't help but be insanely happy. The thing which I never understand about these people is how come one person be super active on duty and be awesomely lazy during leaves that he almost forgets that he is in some other city and has certain things to do. Pheeew! While I was extremely excited to meet him up, he was in 'hibernation' mode and nth number of calls were insufficient to wake him up. (I tell you, it's always that way!) While the entire city was wide awake and...

My Darling Wears White

Usually my day used to start with a cup of tea and a broad smile on face. But now the scene is a little different as some some changes got included into the regular schedule. While previously I was only meant to be reading books, eating, writing, eating, studying, eating and sleeping, the present scenario has a drastic change in it which I never wanted. [Exactly. Never!] Now my current schedule includes a long wait, random mood swings, eating, reading, writing, working, eating and staying awake like an owl. So the happily insomniac turned into an impatient soul who waits for hours to get a call and ends up being grumpier. But that grumpiness disappears the moment I fall asleep.  So, that was just another day which arrived in the shiniest attire to wake up the world with a blissful sunrise. My last night's wait finally ended with the sunrise when I fell asleep. The alarm clock was about to kick me out of my bed and tada! It started ringing. Now I have this serious question;...

Temple Saga & Cab Wale Bhaiya

Once upon a time, in a fine morning, I was out with my prince charming on a voyage... Hold on. Let me rephrase it. In the month of August, when the sky tends to shower more and shine less, the day decides to be different and instead of the light drizzle, it began with the scorching heat of the ever burning sun. I was supposed to meet him around around 1000 hours which, due to my extreme laziness, got delayed and I reached the metro station exactly one hour late. To describe him I will just use one word, 'Calm'. Hence, whether I reach early or late his reaction never changes and that day also he didn't mind me being late. His plan for that day was to visit few temples which were like poles apart in distance. But we decided to make it work. Our first destination was Kalighat Temple which was still nearby from the place where we met. Before talking about anythings else let me just brief you all about this temple. Kalighat Temple is in Kolkata and one of the must...

Lunch at Officers’ Mess

A Civilian’s Dilemma! Subha ka nashta room pe karenge! Dopeher ka khana Mess me khayenge! Madam ki shopping CSD me karenge! “Koyi Shaq?” “No Sir!” my josh-type reply came hearing his full day plan. With the almighty being graceful, my man was in town and I had all the reasons to be super happy. It was the month of May and with that came the soul wrenching heat. I hate summer, but more than me there’s someone who hate this season to the core. With back to back cancellation of leave I had almost given up on destiny and was completely hopeless about our much awaited meeting. But these men in uniform tend to surprise you at the moments when you least expect that. His CO finally decided to show some mercy on him and the day before his sailing was about to start, his leave was granted which was in no way expected. Okay! So my man is in Indian Navy, ruling the ocean and my heart at the same time. I have clearly no idea of why and what things take such turn whenever h...

Winter Chronicles

It was the beginning of winter. The air was welcoming the chilly fragrance to prevail. The festive mood was all over and it was time to settle down to respective works. Certain things were still bearing the essence of ever-blooming summer. Our newly budded relation was among them. Curtains were still off as hesitation kept chanting around. Confession was supplanted by few tokens of anecdotes. Muses played their parts well. Rain seemed prettier, sun seemed brighter, night seemed soother. Burdens of sighs got lightened as the quilt of secrecy went down. Deep, ecstatic feeling got the tag of love, as words surrendered the conditions of heart. Love presented the warmest winter of that era.

The Last Day

"It was a Sunday and I was the OOD there in my ship. As such there's no holiday in armed forces, Navy was no different and we love it that way. The ongoing works were as per the schedule and plans and I thought of sitting down a bit for few moments. One sip from the cup of bliss (tea) and the phone started ringing.  "Some guests are here." The call was to ensure their entry and the visitors were a senior officer and his family;  wife and daughter. In no way my answer could have been no. I positively asked him to let them come.  I had no idea about the additional things that were about to be added in my heart for the rest of my life. I took a round of the ship and after ensuring few things I went on to see the guests on board. I was the gunnery officer of that ship then. As soon as I went there to have a look on that beauty my eyes were set on the shining face of the senior officer. I saluted him with my introduction and asked them to come inside to have so...

Shoe Story

It was a bright sunny day with no trace of black clouds and rain. Hence, according to my aunty, a perfect day for shopping. A Sunday morning which was supposed to be spent in the cozy bed, was by then decided to be wasted on crowded shopping malls, adding to my headache. It wasn't that I don't like shopping. I was simply not prepared to wake up early as last night was spent on finishing a whole web series. [Poor me!] But then who cares. I dropped a message on his number mentioning, 'Going for shopping with Uncle and Aunty' and got fully equipped to win the battle of snatching away the best thing from the stores. As he's in his course so Sunday was a 'Will wake up late' day for which I don't even think of giving a call early morning. To my surprise he replied me saying, "Shopping? Good. Wake me up at 1300 hours. I need to get a hair cut and then will go out for lunch with them." "Okay!" I texted back. To which he corrected, "...

He

He is like dew on lush green; precious. As heavy snow fall of night melts partially with the arrival of sun in the morning, his one glance melts year old frozen hesitations. With heavy strokes as those solitary branches shake off the dust of snow, the sound of his footsteps wipes out all the fear from within. His touch, as shrilling as cold wind, freezes the soul. As the nightingale from Keats' po etry fills melancholic perfume in air during winter night, his voice pours a mellifluous symphony all around leaving a lyrical flow to swing in. Seldom did the winter know how gorgeous it can appear when the darkness falls. With the rising moon the silvery glow reigns, giving the grayish layer an ethnic touch. How awestruck the drowsy traveler remains only the beguiling night knows. Likely, his ponderous silence and weepy hushes reveal the dense secret he hides within. His warm breathes melt down the curtains of shame to exhale out the naked feelings in most affectionate way ever. Winter...
