Parathe aur Aloo Bhujia!

Whenever my darling comes to town, he comes with loads of simplicity and a dash of awesomeness. It was the end of May when he finally got a little time to waste on me as his tenure as the CO of a ship ended and another round of hustles was yet to begin. Sadly, his stay never extends from only three days to more. But it's better to have something than nothing and by then I was totally accustomed with the improbable leaves. So when I was getting 'Oh My God!!! Three Days!!!' togetherness, I couldn't help but be insanely happy.

The thing which I never understand about these people is how come one person be super active on duty and be awesomely lazy during leaves that he almost forgets that he is in some other city and has certain things to do. Pheeew! While I was extremely excited to meet him up, he was in 'hibernation' mode and nth number of calls were insufficient to wake him up. (I tell you, it's always that way!)

While the entire city was wide awake and was in full rush, my darling kept snoring on his cozy bed, in a fully air conditioned room of the mess. We were supposed to go for a movie, followed by shopping and lunch. Now I have a serious grudge against people who keep boasting about the punctuality of faujis which is clearly never visible on him. Anyway, he was supposed to come and pick me from station which got delayed because he woke up late and halted at a nearby tea shop to grab some hot tea. What else do you expect from a tea-addict? And there came my man with sleepy eyes and lazy steps, after making me wait for long 15 minutes.

See, now comes the best part of being in distance relationship. As you can't see him for months, no matter how angry you are on him, the moment you see him coming, all your anger melts with that one smile. It's like a magical ointment. He never misses that perk and always takes full advantage of it.

As we managed to convince an autowale bhaiya to drop us at the mess, he whispered, "Ah! Someone is looking hot."
"Has to! Almost at boiling point, ain't that?"
"This is why I don't give you compliment," and with that line he was back to his original form.
Those cheesy romantic stuffs were never his genre. "You ain't a romantic person," I teased and we laughed forgetting all the previous arguments, fights and debates.

My man was in town!

Not to my utter surprise, he didn't brush, bathe or eat anything by then and as a result I had to wait for one and a half hour before executing our plan.
"Why didn't you brush?" I gave him an angry look.
"I woke up and saw your calls. I thought I will brush later!" he innocently admitted.
"Nothing new! We need to cancel the movie plan!" I was checking the movie timing and continuously counting the hours remaining in hand to reach the theater.

But he made impossible possible and despite running late we covered the one hour distance in 45 minutes by cheering the cab driver with motivation speech. God knows how came it work really well. As the movie got finished Janab felt hungry and we rushed to grab something. Now comes the climax!

"What will you have?" I always let him order as I simply love to see him ordering according to my taste.
Out of all the dishes in the menu he uttered, "Parathe aur aloo bhujia."
"Really? And who'll cook that for you here?"
"I miss ghar ka khana!" his words hit the heart and I felt so bad about how these people crave for the homely touch.

The rest of the day went according to plan. But that one line took a toll on me. The next day I woke up early to cook something which I can barely do. To my utter surprise, my momma was already in the kitchen preparing some tasty breakfast for all of us. God is graceful! Guess what was in the menu? Parathe aur Aloo Bhujia. Without wasting a little time I asked her to pack it which amazed her as I don't like to carry my lunch box and that day I was more than willing to take it with me.

So breakfast menu was set. All I needed was the man who had no idea about the surprise. As I reached his place I quickly went to wash the plates and serve the breakfast for him. It was probably not like what his mom makes but it surely had the motherly affection in it. He was more than happy with the plain parathas and aloo bhurji and we ate together. That day I understood that home is about the people. I found my another home in him.

The Winds That No More Hums The Happy Tale!

Things went magically insane the very moment someone's presence rejuvenated life back into the dead city of mine. A gush of wind passed by in the wind hushing some symphony of belongingness. I stood still for a while in amusement looking at the way things were around, all of a sudden. The sick old tree beside the lake had tiny green leaves peeping out from the lifeless branch. The heart sighed after a long; the change was for good. It was almost evening and the dark didn't scare me. The lonely cuckoo was duetting with some other bird which I failed to recognize. My world was getting dipped into the leftover of the sunset, all magical and bright.  Almost a month passed since that day. Today, the wind reminded me of that time when he arrived with hands full of amusement, restlessness, sparkles and magic. The wind is crisp and soothing, despite all the heated situations in between. May be it's not the city, may be it's not the wind nor even those golden hues. May be it is ...

Lunch at Officers’ Mess

A Civilian’s Dilemma! Subha ka nashta room pe karenge! Dopeher ka khana Mess me khayenge! Madam ki shopping CSD me karenge! “Koyi Shaq?” “No Sir!” my josh-type reply came hearing his full day plan. With the almighty being graceful, my man was in town and I had all the reasons to be super happy. It was the month of May and with that came the soul wrenching heat. I hate summer, but more than me there’s someone who hate this season to the core. With back to back cancellation of leave I had almost given up on destiny and was completely hopeless about our much awaited meeting. But these men in uniform tend to surprise you at the moments when you least expect that. His CO finally decided to show some mercy on him and the day before his sailing was about to start, his leave was granted which was in no way expected. Okay! So my man is in Indian Navy, ruling the ocean and my heart at the same time. I have clearly no idea of why and what things take such turn whenever h...

A Hibiscus for You Ma'am!

Believe me when I say that being in love is more than feeling butterflies in tummy, witnessing romantic sunset and walking hand-in-hand. When you are in love, the whole world suddenly feels upside down! My love story, as I always say, is not about the mushy stuffs but like a Tonga-ride; exciting, fancy yet dangerous (Only if you don't know how to ride it).  Rather than stating how much we love each other, we always preferred saying how much we missed each other. Instead of making the other one blush, we laughed our heart out with silly remarks. Romantic dates were always supplanted by 'Let's have Pizza today!' plans. Above all, not to forget our first ever attempt for a date. While one would precisely choose some garden, cafe, park, restaurant, beach or anything on earth, my darling chose Temples! Exactly, you read it right. As I have shared with you earlier on 'Temple Saga'. Well, I can't fully blame him as I am equally hopeless when it comes to execut...
